Quinta do Campo is the only farm of the 12th century monastery of Alcobaça that has lasted to the present day and is the only Portuguese farm classified as property of National Public Interest (2005), for being the “only example in Portugal of the medieval architecture of the Cistercian farms and the most well preserved in the Iberian Peninsula”.

Parts of the building that can still be seen today, date back to different periods beginning in the 13th century and the Mainhouse was built during the 19th century.
